Last weekend saw the second team leaders briefing taking place at QECP.
A total of 550 teams of four are preparing to do the 100km trip along the South Downs Way, in 30 hours, over the weekend of the 14th/15th July.
All the leaders need to be briefed to ensure that their team members are ready for the event and make the most of the experience. This advice can be focussed on the fundraising side or more simple tips such as ‘changing socks at every checkpoint’.
Each year two briefings take place at QECP and one at Canary Wharf in London. The teams usually use the rest of the day to do some practice miles along the route.
Unfortunately this years event has been fully booked for some time. There are however opportunities for people to help the event by volunteering. This is a great way to have a closer look at this formidable challenge with a view to entering in 2013.
