Snow arrived on Wednesday the 1st of December and the Park was closed the following day with at least 9 inches of powdery snow. About 100 people with skis, snow boards and sledges made it to the site on the Thursday and enjoyed perfect conditions. The Park centre opened on the Friday although it would be another week before the top road to the Butser car park could be opened.

A small herd of 30 month old organic Aberdeen Angus beef cattle had been grazing on the top of Butser Hill, which at 270 metres is the highest point on the South Downs. Due to the severe weather these were brought down the slopes where they could get some shelter and hay to eat.

Rain on the Saturday night put an end to the snow and only small amounts remain in sheltered parts.
