Coralie and Barbara

Coralie and Barbara

Just before Christmas two long serving staff members at QECP retired after accumulating 65 years of service between them. Coralie Wearing was taken on as a receptionist in 1976 when the Park centre first opened and ended her career as shop manager/senior receptionist, and Barbara Bannister, who started a little later, worked in the back office and finished as our administrator.

To mark this achievement three mini events took place during the day. At the first, regular visitors, past and present,  club members, shop suppliers and craftsmen gathered in the theatre for a presentation which rolled back the years to the start of QECP as we know it. The second group was made up of ex-members of staff, again with a presentation, shared memories and tales of times past. And finally a gathering of the current staff.
In total about 100 people came to say goodbye in a day that brought together many old friends and colleagues to witness the end of an era.

We wish them well for a long and happy retirement.
Two new staff members will begin work in the New year and will be the subject of their own post at a later date.
