Volunteers working in the pond

Volunteers working in the pond

The image above shows the Tuesday Volunteers working in the Park Centre pond last week. Their main task was to clear the water of a large volume of logs and branches that had been thrown in during the recent icy weather. The timing of the task fitted in between the early frog spawning and the arrival of the toads, with the aim being to cause as little disturbance as possible.

Whilst there are opportunities to volunteer around the week at QECP, and to get involved in a wide variety of tasks, the Tuesday group meets weekly at 10.00am for a mornings work. This is a great way to find out more about their work and to meet some of the individuals involved.
